With over 20 years of experience in water and wastewater infrastructure planning and development, I am deeply passionate about sustainable water resources and wastewater management, circular economy integration, and fostering positive ecological impact. I have dedicated my career to revolutionizing the industry by integrating innovative solutions and empowering others through education and mentorship."

Engineering and Management Expertise & Skills Set

With a strong background in Chemical Engineering and a specialization in Water Utilization Engineering, my expertise and experience have fueled my passion for creating solutions that drive positive ecological impact. My roles as a Senior Process Engineer and Senior Manager for Process Engineering and Environmental Services at a city-owned wastewater management utility have equipped me with the skills and knowledge to lead WATEN Process Engineering and WATEN Technical Writing Services towards a sustainable and circular future. Throughout my career, I have led and contributed to numerous significant projects and activities as a lead process engineer and senior manager. Some of these include:

Continuous improvement and optimization of 19 WWTPs to achieve green drop certification and deliver medium to long-term treatment capacity

Identifying process inefficiencies and capacity upgrading requirements through process plant audits, BioWin and spreadsheet modelling, and simulations.

Investigating new technologies to integrate into existing processes to improve WWTP treatment efficiencies and capacity

Developing scope and design build projects for implementing Nerada, HyBacs, and Plastic media biofilters.

Process design and client's lead process engineering function in unit process design and infrastructure capacity upgrade projects

50 Ml/day capacity upgrading of two plants through a BNR process.
13 Ml/day extension of WWTP by constructing new secondary settling tanks.
Process and Hydraulic Design and implementation of inlet works and chlorination tanks

Developing sustaiable sludge management strategy and 5 year operational plan for the 19 WWTP

Establishing present and future sludge production.
Classifying sludge quality based on WRC guidelines.
Reviewing and screening technologies.
Conducting cost-benefit analysis of sustainable sludge management options
Getting the sludge managagement and beneficitiation strategy approved by both the Board of Directors and the Municipality Council
Creating sludge management plans for each of the 19 WWTPs.

Other Responsibilities

Ensuring project environmental compliance and obtaining Water Use Licensing and Permits.
Supporting procurement through tender specifications, evaluations, and adjudications.
Leading, training, and mentoring process engineers and environmentalists."
